The daughter was already a public figure in the debate over homosexuality. She wasn't hiding in the closet avoiding a public presence.

I would disagree with that statement. She did nothing to insert herself into the debate. You do not define someone as a public figure based on what others have said and done about him or her. It is the actions of the person in question that make that person a public figure.

Mary Cheney did nothing to insert herself in this debate.

I think she should sue Kerry and Edwards, personally. She likely wouldn't win, but it't be fun as hell to watch the case progress.

FWIW, in two weeks, Breck Boy will be packing his bags to head back to his multi-million dollar law practice and Kerry will be reviewing his prenup.
