‘Where The F*ck Were You?’: Doug Emhoff Offers Brutal Glimpse Into Marriage With Kamala John Loftus Editor at Large
Doug, no. Doug … no. Doug … NOOOOOOOOO!
Brace yourself. Second gentleman Doug Emhoff just gave Americans an honest, if a bit too honest, glimpse into his marriage with Kamala Harris.
During the Dan Le Batard Show on Tuesday, Emhoff recalled the day he learned President Joe Biden dropped out of the race. He was at a SoulCycle class in Los Angeles, of course, sweating bullets next to a gay couple when one of his friends told him the news.
Emhoff said his phone was in a Secret Service car outside, so he “ran” to the vehicle, “and there was my phone, literally like you could feel the steam.” He then called Kamala for a “one-minute or less conversation, which started with, ‘Where the fuck were you?’ … I need you right now. And basically, ‘Get to work.’ And I did.”
Tough scenes. I would like to think if this was a normal, healthier relationship, Harris would have called her husband and said something to the effect of: “This is so exciting. I’m so happy to be alongside you on this rollercoaster ride. It’s going to be a ton of work, but we’ll do it together. I love you. You’re my rock. How was your spin class?”
But no, in reality, it was more like: “Dougie! Get your gay ass outta spin class this instant before I come over there and beat your ass. You think this is gonna be a free ride? You think you can just sit on the sidelines and be a little b*tch at SoulCycle? Hell nah, motherf*cka. You are nothing without me.”
I kind of feel for the man. Imagine on what could be one of the most exciting days in your relationship with your wife, the day you learn she has a shot at the Oval Office, she’s ticked off that you’re MIA and cusses you out for it.
Then again, I don’t. Emhoff brought this upon himself. He signed up to lurk in the shadow of his power-hungry wife. Also, any man who goes to a spin class, or any exercise class for that matter, should be shamed out of civil society. No man who calls himself a man goes to SoulCycle.
My weekly newsletter, Mr. Right, will be discussing Emhoff’s relationship dynamic with Kamala in greater detail Friday. We are going to take a closer look at how Emhoff playing second fiddle to his wife has perhaps fueled his alleged anti-social behavior, which includes slapping an ex-girlfriend and berating women in his office.
