<Sounds to me like the parents need some training.>

You are very right on that!

Some of them need capital punishment or at least prison.

They use their offspring as a tool to get more welfare payments. The more children they have to support, the greater their payments. So, there's a bit of squabbling over who has posssession of the children, and therefore the money from the government.

That is a hideously obscene proposition and makes me think it is now, in New Zealand, unethical to pay taxes because without that money, the children born to such hopeless people, would be adopted by somebody else who wants them for themselves, not the cash they bring in, and they'd have a chance of a decent life.

A very large number of children in New Zealand now have the state as their 'father' and a drug-addled benefit-dependent step-father as boss. A very large proportion of children are now part of a single-parent "family". It's a mess. The prisons are full and more are needed. It's easy to see the causal relationships.

Cut off the money and the horrors will be cut off too.

PS: Thinking about my daughters being on tv or being discussed, I wouldn't find it desirable. We don't even have tv these days and didn't when the children were young. Appearing on tv is not conducive to a peaceful life. The couple of times I've done it, it was like touching the third rail! I have a well-known cousin [who most people in NZ know from TV and subsequently magazines] and she had trouble adapting for some time and this is a very benign media environment. So I can imagine having a USA TV presence would be quite daunting and a great interference to regular life.

I wouldn't have brought up Dick Cheney's daughter unless I was sure she was already a public figure. But neither would I go nose-punching or threatening with violence if she was my daughter.
