<Why in the world should Mary Cheney have any comment whatsoever about this issue, about what words some jerk politician tries to put in her mouth?>

I would want to have my say if somebody presumed to put words in my mouth and I had an opportunity to support my father who I was supporting anyway, or if I wanted to have some other effect.

Or, maybe she doesn't want to, in which case she might simply adopt the British Royal Family motto of "Never complain, never explain".

I bet she has a say! I doubt it will be good news for John Kerry.

<And I think her Dad was wrong when he first introduced the matter publicly back in August. >

I'd be surprised if he hadn't already discussed that with her. If he hadn't then he's a worse father than John Kerry was wrong in his answer to the question.
