"but such evidence isn't available."

You said in a previous post that there could not be and was not any evidence for God. But we have 100 % evidence of a mutable and finite existence. This does not mean that omniscience, omnipresence, spirit, and so forth might not exist--just that to give such a conjecture equal weight to the scientific observations which evidence reality for us is to be intellectually evasive if not dishonest-at least it is for me, if not for others.

Nobody can be absolutely sure of anything. Thus, saying "I don't know" in all matters is bereft of meaning. It has meaning as a general response to ignorance on any particular matter. But where one is not ignorant on a matter but has (for example) overwhelming evidence of mortality and material/conditional existence, then "I don't know" seems needlessly protective of the principle that nothing is ultimately known for certain.

However, if a person has some evidence (or even a justifiable suspicion) that spirit exists and non dependence, etc. THEN such a person could very well be agnostic to the idea of God. But I find it strange that people will bravely declare disbelief in fairies or invisible sprites or demons controlling mental illness, but feel compelled to leave a spare costume on stage for an all powerful being. They may be adamant that God does not use demons to create mental illness, but as to whether He exists they are merely unsure...
