It is a little strange, and the circus it has become was predictable. The funny thing is that the INS never had any intention of relinquishing discretion over the disposition of the case, and yet any hope of a quiet disposition was gone when the family took custody. Rather than fight it out, they should have agreed to hearings from that point on.....
