Our county library has Albion's Seed - I'll get it, it looks very interesting. I was not aware of the strength of the Scotch-Irish influence at all. (My background, BTW, is French-Canadian). Barbara Bush's geneology is very different from her husband's - she's related to Franklin Pierce (not much to write home about, IMO :-)) and also has Czech ancestry:
