>>Would ASND/CSCC want this technology for their own? It is much faster to buy it than develop it - if they need it. Both are Ca. companies.
ANET is a potential competitor in Asia and Latin America.
Might not ASND want to buy technology, gain access to more accounts and take a competitor off the board - at a firesale price?<<

If ASND is interested in gaining from ANET's technology, buying that
company is not the only solution as people are speculating. They can have agreements on technology transfer, pay royalties on patents, start some kind of joint development. If ASND sees value in the tchnology then they can just buy the technology instead of buying the company with its problems.
Of course, there are problems with both approaches and I donot mean to start a debate on that but just sttaing an alternate view.
I am not familiar with ANET's management and reasons for its current problems with revenues but their financial results show something is not falling in place somewhere so buying the company may not be the first solution that ASND might think at this point.
