CJ, I live just far enough away(1 hr drive) to find the PA Amish community both fascinating & nostalgic. Those horse & buggies with scrubbed-face children peering from the back window at the modern "strangers", transports the imagination to a simpler time. Tourism is PA's #1 industry and the PA Dutch lure contributes mightily to the bottom line for many businesses. I'm not aware of any negatives other than real horse power slowing down impatient motorized vehicles. If the Amish, Mennonites, Moravians form a powerful voting bloc, you can be sure GW will benefit from it.
