This is exactly what I mean. You are not even following the logic of the discussion. You are just pounding dem talking points and bashing repugs.

This has been done. It was a very hopeful and sincere attempt during this administration. No one sabotaged it or anything... it just failed, but in the process we learned that just adding money to a school (and in some cases billions) will not change the outcome for low achieving populations.

Fact 1: The government has already pumped billions into a few failing schools in an attempt to turn them around and create a model program. It was a complete failure. None of the schools improved and some even got worse.

That is a fact, an unavoidable and demonstrable fact. Yet you completely ignore it.

"Why would your idea about what a good teacher is be better than mine, or mine better than yours? We could never agree."

1. I taught teacher education at more than one universities for years, so I have a pretty good idea, am qualified to judge, and have done so. I can define the elements of good teaching and the criteria upon which to evaluate the performance of a good teacher. What are your qualifications.

2. That has nothing to do with this topic.

" I don't know anyone who had problems with the public school system except people who didn't do their homework."

You are arguing with yourself. We have whole communities of students in which a high percentage do not graduate, and in which graduates are not testing out as proficient in basic skills. Of course they did not commit to a rigorous course of study... duh.

I no longer even know what your idea is except that we should spend more money, and repugs are evil anti-intellectuals... which frankly is a doltish partisan rant and nothing more.
