It is typical in the M.E. for Trading Families to be approached on a regular basis to become the Agent, Distributor, JV partner for a brand, service or product. In our group the G.M.'s that report to me manage 3 Pharmacies, two IT companies,a Construction Company, Kitchen Factory, Furniture and Joinery Factory, Steel Rebar Factory, Large Furniture store in a very Large Mall, MEP Company, Building automation/ controls company, specialty chemical company for paint related products, a Department store, an energy drinks brand, A real Estate Division with 15 properties and a restaurant.
You can see why I mostly lurk. This is my 5th Group in 23 years. Once you clean it up after 3/4 years they want to drive the car again and so you move on to the next challenge. I guess it is like being a Consultant except you get an operating title for a few years.
