The evidence against the President has been underwhelming, not overwhelming. The GOP House managers couldn't even get their dates right on their poster board presentations. Hit www.drudgereport.com and click on the Safire headine at the top right of the page, then read the six or seven grafs that are lifted from Safire's piece in the NY Times tomorrow. Safire makes an interesting point: Clinton's statements may not have been untruthful. At least not to a 50-year-old lonely man going through a midlife crisis that involved more than sex. Maybe Bill was actually telling the truth!

Re "The few Repubs who stood on principle deserve much respect and admiration ...'' Huh? Who dey? The Republicans have voted as a herd of wildebeests on every major roll-call.

This is nothing more than partisan politics at its worst. Even my wife, who votes Republican 95% of the time, said on the day Big Bill was impeached: "This is nothing more than a witch hunt."
