"Canon is predicting unit sales of its digital cameras will outstrip those of its film cameras as early as next year. To meet demand for the rapid growth of digital, the Japanese company says it plans to increase the number of digital models it produces by 70%. Canon, which claims to be the leading producer of higher-end digital cameras (2m pixel resolution and above) in Europe with a market share of 18%, will produce 4m of the devices this financial year."
