Doing another import of the data so most of the dev site will be dead for another half hour or so, then features will gradually start working again as it works its way through the tables.

Profiles don't work yet. I don't even think I've got a dead-end screen written for them yet.

Edit: If you're getting "Timeout expired" on the development site, it's because the folder links table hasn't finished importing yet. In SQL Server, the built-in import routine doesn't gradually populate a table. It reads all the incoming records then puts them all in the destination table at the same time.

I'll check from home in another hour or so and see if the import process hung again.
