getgo: I agree with what you say. Did not know they were have been reporting "very large losses on this foreign debt". (BTW does this mean that they are say borrowing at 6% and returning only 2%? Compounded by currency issues?)

Good point about IMF restrictions. That's likely a crucial point. I replied to Addi 2 posts earlier that LSI will not be affected by this near term unless that area (including Japan) goes into a full blown recession and no one buys anything. I agree DRAM companies are affected to a larger degree.
