The First 56K ISP Service Came out In Taiwan

Although the 56 kbps modem has been available for a while, since most internet service providers in Taiwan don't support 56kbps modem, still it is not very popular. However, to fit the demand for bigger bandwidth, offering 56 kbps connection has become a future trend for ISPs. IS.net acclaimed yesterday that beginning August 1, it will provide 56K Flex connection service; in advance of HiNet, who schedules its 56K connection out at the end of this year. What IS.net uses is the Rockwell Standard 56K modem, and the remote access device is Ascend Communications. IS.net will coporate with E-Tech to promote this service.
