So with Global companies and global currency or two , what is the difference between the US with its different states and economies and different countries. No one measures the trade balances between states etc. and with the Euro and dollar being used everywhere , the Global economy is the key and the US statistics become as important as a States statistics IMO. Import/Export is a meaningless statistic for global companies who have plants /businesses are over the world using dollars as their contract reference and building their products whereever their customer desires and sometimes in multiple locations depending on the final sale customer with everyone linked :customer, OEM, distributor , manufacter, etc.Problems in Asia become like problems in the Rust Belt a few years back. So in analyzing doesn't one have to use a new pardigm?
