You are wrong, stock splits don't change the intrinsic value of your investment but they do have a defininte impact on future value. Often times a split stock is "perceived" as being cheaper, and thus more accesible. The perception of accessibility is important. People are more likely to buy a stock that they perceive as being affordable. It does not make great fiscal sense but the effect of splits is real, If Intel splits you will see the impact. For emaple when Intel split last time, they was a small short term run up post split. Check it out, it happened.
