I've been pleasantly surprized at how well the CUBE held up in the general carnage this morning. This looks like a strong sign to me that anyone who wanted to do tax-loss selling is already out. This is a good omen for CUBE.

On the negative side, CAWS is getting killed this morning (it was already 3/4s dead). Apparantly Bell Atlantic and NYNEX are reevaluating how they want to deliver video to the home. The main reason I have stayed bullish all year on CUBE is that I thought that MMDS would be as important as DBS right now and digital cable boxes would be rolling out in mass in the first half of '97. I thought both of these areas would be much more important to CUBE than DVD until at least Christmas of '98 (and more likely Christmas of '99). It looks like I may have been too optimistic for MMDS. Long term, CUBE should still do great, but the next couple of quarters may not be as strong as I thought.
