Majorities Support Arizona-Style Laws

By: Daniel Foster
The Corner

A new Rasmussen survey finds that 60 percent of likely voters across the country favor immigration laws like the one Arizona just passed, which give local and state authorities power to pursue individuals on reasonable suspicion that they are in the country illegally.
Just 31 percent of respondents are opposed to such laws.

Worse yet for Democrats who want to hang their hats on a legislative effort that includes amnesty, 62 percent of independents surveyed support the Arizona bill, and Democrats are evenly divided.

This, I figure, is one reason why Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) might get his way on cap and trade coming to the floor before immigration.
