COGNICASE Awarded Two High-Profile Ontario Government
Projects: Ministry of Education, Ministry of the
Environment

MONTREAL, CANADA--JULY 16, 2001 - 14:26 EDT
COGNICASE Inc. (Nasdaq: "COGI"), a leading
e-business services provider specializing in secure and scalable
real-time transactional solutions, is pleased to announce its
successful bid to deliver two projects to the Ontario government.
The combined value of these two projects is over CDN$2.8 million.

The first involves the Ministry of Education's
"Elementary/Secondary Data Warehouse" (EDSW) project. The data
warehouse will improve the Ministry's capacity to store, manage,
and analyze the data it collects about Ontario's education system.
COGNICASE's solution will use IBM's DB2 UDB 7.0 Enterprise
Edition RDBMS, Cognos's Business Intelligence tools for reporting
and analytics, and Informatica's PowerCentre for extracting,
transforming, and loading of source data into the warehouse and
data marts.

COGNICASE has also been chosen by the Ministry of the Environment,
Government of Ontario, to deliver the internal system design,
development, training and implementation for the Provincial
Groundwater Monitoring Information System (PGMIS). The system is
a Web-based application under the Ministry of the Environment's
e.NVIRO-NET initiative to establish the Provincial Groundwater
Monitoring Network (PGMN).

"These contracts highlight our position as a leading supplier of
public sector management solutions and are perfectly in line with
our determination to become a force to be reckoned with in the
Ontario market," stated Ronald Brisebois, COGNICASE President and
CEO.
