Rob:

Actually Lehmen's cautious pre-earning report can be a good thing. As a stockholder, one does not want the goal is set too high for the company to meet (and the price of stock usually declines sharply after earning fail to meet expectation and usually goes up when beat the expectation).

For past 3 or 4 Q's, the Lehmen analyst covering IDTI has been consistently conservative about IDTI and IDTI has consistently beat his estimate. Last June, IDTI's management was not happy with him after the guy caused 20% decline in stock price in single day with record trading volume (The management thought he massively mis-represented or mis-interpreted IDTI's ex-CFO's statement). Interestingly, the same guy was suggesting his clients in last June to sell semi-conductor stocks based on expected seasonal weakness. However, the weakness did not come until late September or early October. A lot of chip stocks actually hit high in August and early September. His clients probably were not very happy about it.

It is very interesting how one's emotion can move from one extreme to another in very short time. About 10 days ago, people on this site were very bullish after Dow Jones ran a story on interview with IDTI's CEO. What I could not understand is a lot people suddenly turn bearish after IDTI told the world that the volume production of C6 has begun in its OR fab.
