Hong Kong's telecom shares rally U.S. shares of Cable & Wireless HKT Hong Kong's telecommunication shares rallied amid widespread expectation that Pacific Century Cyberworks is close to announce its merger bid plan for Cable & Wireless HKT. -- Pacific Century Cyberworks (PCCLF: news, msgs) requested the trading suspension in its shares soon after the market opened saying it would make a statement in relation to its merger proposal with Cable & Wireless HKT. Shares of PCCW was up 4.6 percent to 22.15 Hong Kong dollars before the suspension.
