He would have to be much more Machiavellian about it-- like Bush. :) Poor Machiavelli. Almost everybody condemns him, and virtually nobody today has ever seriously read him. In fact, his whole body of work is very un-Machiavellian as the word is now used. It's sort of like how everybody thinks the ugly American is a bad person, whereas in the book the ugly American was the good guy.
