The energy policy and the foreign policy of the US have a lot to do with the current price of oil. You could almost say they planned it that way. What better way to enhance the price of oil then to control the supply? Or in commodity markets, all you have to do is threaten the stability of the supply to get a raise in price.

Peak oil is often misunderstood. We are at the peak of world production and distribution of oil. What better time to consolidate one's position in oil?
