Hi Dominick
Go back to the very first of my recent flurry of postings;
Message 18615850
In it I spoke about the warrants of Agnico Eagle saying;
"There are FIVE YEAR warrants available on this and other gold stocks... they provide excellent upside protection for short straddles etc. Indeed, I think they would be great for a Calendar spread long..... if you see what I mean. Just buy some warrants and forget 'em."
Someone punched the details of these warrants into an options calculator which appeared to tell him that such a long term option has very low theta.
After my earlier posting this morning, I was going to post the following, but decided it was probably too much like SPAM, so I scrubbed it ! However, seeing that you are asking, here goes !
"If my last posting piqued anyone's interest, here's a this morning News Report from the mining company whose stock and warrants are "trading at a lower price level but apparently on the same price curve". For anyone interested, it may be worthwhile to listen to this morning's web-cast.

Disclosure: I own stock in this company. And that is NO recommendation ! I give this detail only to give flesh and substance to my earlier posting. The market for the warrants is illiquid. Be careful!!. Caveat Emptor
Dominick, Does your computer have Qbasic (in DOS) capabillity ? I have some interesting Qbasic programs I have writtten over the years including one that generates theoretical "warrant pricing curves". I would be happy to share it with you privately if you can use it.
The "HIGH YIELD DOG" I had in mind when I spoke about an alternative use for freed capital, is a stock called Novicourt. As a metter of fact, because of its speculative possibilities, I have picked it as the stock that I think will perform best this year !! See the recent news report and my comments on the "2003 Canadian stock picking contest". Look at this company's balance sheet and the possibilities of its High Teck exploration venture. It pays a regular dividend of 12% (while it lasts) and the possibility of an extra 6% dividend is imminent.

Anyway, you asked me what I meant ! There it is. Hope it's not considered SPAM. |
