Regarding Digital Video and Globalstar, there are currently no plans to for distributing Digital Video through Globalstar. According to someone on the project, "The main reason is that the satellite links just don't support enough bandwidth - they run at about 7kbps for data calls. The restriction is imposed because of Power Flux Density limits set by the FCC (i.e. the amount of aggregate power that is allowed to hit the ground). In the future, there will be some done on aggregating channels to achieve higher rates, but the tradeoff there is that you chew up system capacity pretty quickly (which makes it expensive)."
