So if dad gets to leave to you, his heir, his property, why in the world did you question my assertion that people get to dispose of their own property as they see fit? You implied that people should have full control over disposition of all assets. The keyword here is all. That is a system for preserving generational wealth where the offspring begin with a lifetime of wealth regardless of their skills and aptitudes. That philosophy of generational asset preservation is what led to the lack of economic mobility in the middle ages, known as the dark ages. No longer did wealth follow merit, instead in only followed heraldic symbols. TP
