Even when I pray for a person in adversity (sometimes myself), it is "Thy will be done." I seek strength to endure and to comprehend rather than release and I look for wisdom in what I live through, regardless of how horrible it seems at the time. During many years during my earlier life, I did every possible thing to drive God away from me.... What a silly thing to do, please forgive me for being so blunt. I always held close to God, even as the denominational depictions kept falling away: The notion of the All Knowing was so compelling. This was neither a He or a She; this was a marvellous idea: A God who knows its creation and loves it intensely. This is not limited to the God of the Talmud nor the God of the new Testament. This is a God apart from society who experiences life through each person and feels our lives. This is what I find when I meditate and what I have always found.
