regarding the java client in 'limbo': well, heck, if IBM or whomever cares about netscape's java effort or javagator, then they should contribute monetarily and in any other related resources. Netscape obviously cannot support those efforts and needs to meet bottom lines to save itself from the street beatings.. if it is left alone to float, netscape might suffer more, and for this particular area, microsoft will be left to drive, adding its own twists, and in the end saying: damnit, I told you this about java.. microsoft's deeps pockets need a match, IBM has it. I think it is about time for IBM, SUNW, Oracle etc, not to buy netscape, but to support it in one way or another. What are they waiting for? |
