569...Amsted Rail to lay off another 206
St. Louis Business Journal

Amsted Rail, formerly known as American Steel Foundries, plans to lay off an additional 206 employees in March at its mill in Granite City, according to published media reports.

The layoffs are in addition to the 363 job cuts Chicago-based Amsted planned for February at the Granite City mill, and earlier reductions of 107 workers in August and 21 employees in September.

The steel mill, at 1700 Walnut St., employed about 1,000 workers in 2007.
