Thanks for your comments, Ray.
My bro lives in Pacific Heights, and apparently very close to the CO. To this day, 10 months after getting PacBell DSL he still moans about the first no show, then the incompetence of the tech, & how they screwed up his dial tone for a few days. Fortunately, for him, he had his company send in a tech to remedy the problem as he needed special support to provide him with a hub to provide multi-PC access, one of which access the Net via his company's VPN.
BTW, IMHO, VPNs will be analogous to country clubs of the future, where much of the publicly routed traffic can be by-passed via a VPN that provides "private" and non-congested access to a select group of popular & customize websites . . . for a price premium. Many high end customers cannot tolerate incompetency and are willing to pay a premium for it. I'm just waiting for broadband prices to drop, then opt for a premium based service. My sweet spot is about $80-90 month, which I'm used to after 2 years of ISDN & websurfing @ $.02/min.
You have a great weekend too, and as they say here among people in 'the biz,' "be well." |
