<<<It also outlines Amati's inability to meet delivery dates for product in '95 for field trials due to financial problems. In my opinion this explains the preference for some customers to contract with Westell, etc.

I also noted that the Motorola/Amati agreement provides for 'best pricing' to Amati for the new chip and delivery preference.

While many of these points are probably known to some on this thread, the document does provide considerable insight into Amati's past, present and future path.>>>

John --

I'm so glad you posted again. I read that document after midnight last night and thought at the time I hadn't heard some of it debated on the boards. I'll go back and reread. RC told me about the '95 field trials and I know they involved BT and that's when they added WSTL. I don't know if anyone else was involved.

The MOT "best pricing and delivery preference" means exactly what it says and is no small matter. The minute the chip is ready, Amati gets it first and at that point will run its own tests, tweak if needed, and proceed from there.

If my foggy memory serves me correctly, there's discussion on their manufacturing capability, also.

Back to the archives. . .

Regards,

Pat
