Silicon Graphics Announces Strategic Business andMarketing Relationship With Oracle

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Graphics, Inc. (NYSE: SGI) today announced a multi-faceted strategic business and marketing relationship with Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL) to accelerate the adoption of Oracle(R) products on the Silicon Graphics(R) platform.

Silicon Graphics and Oracle will jointly maintain a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) chartered to develop and market synergistic hardware and software solutions as well as engineer Oracle applications to take maximum advantage of Silicon Graphics industry-leading Origin server technology. The SBU will be integrated globally across both companies operations over the next quarter.

The goal is to improve overall customer understanding and satisfaction via refined procedures for assessing needs and addressing problem areas.
