In Canada, Shering markets a drug called Caelix, and encapsulated adriamycin (doxorubicin), called doxil in the US. I've given it for Kaposi's sarcomas (the original indication), and have now prescribed it for a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patient who had a decreased cardiac ejection fraction from previous adriamycin therapy. I'm not sure what the differences are between evacet and doxil/caelix are, if any. Moreover, there is already one liposomally encapsulated adria on the market---if a second one comes along, it might have to compete on price. Tell me if there are differences to these two drugs.
