ISO requests draft of next version of TDR soil moisture measurement standards

The company has been requested by the International Standards Organization
(ISO) to draft the next version of TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) soil
moisture measurement standards. ISO is a worldwide federation of national
standards bodies based in Basel, Switzerland which establishes standards
for the measurement of quality.
The request to ESI resulted from a presentation by the company to ISO
officials regarding the proposed new standards for TDR soil moisture
measurement. As TDR is one of ESI's baseline technologies, ESI was invited
to participate in the review and was represented by Mr Ronald McFarlane,
engineering manager and Dr Nigel Livingston from the University of
Victoria. As a result, ESI and Dr Livingston, will draft the next version
of the proposed standards document, which will be reviewed at the next ISO
committee meeting.
