Telular Corporation to Supply Network Interface Cards to QUALCOMM for Fixed Wireless Communications

VERNON HILLS, Ill., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Telular Corporation (Nasdaq: WRLS) today announced an agreement with QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) to supply Telular's patented interface card for QUALCOMM's Fixed Wireless Terminals (FWT).

Telular's Borscht Daughter Card will enable QUALCOMM's FWT users to access the 800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz CDMA (digital) networks from a standard telephone equipped with a RJ11 jack. By using the Telular card, these units will be able to duplicate all the standard wired network features such as call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID and three-ways calls.

"We are delighted to have been selected by QUALCOMM," said Kenneth E. Millard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telular. "We look forward to a mutually productive relationship where we can support the expansion of CDMA networks."

This announcement comes on the heels of a recent announcement of a contract with Ericsson Radio Systems, AB to license Telular's patent portfolio of wireline-to-wireless interface technologies.

Telular has its headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Vernon Hills and has been in the fixed wireless business for 10 years. It has sales offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, London and Singapore, and a major research and development facility on Long Island, N.Y.

Telular's proprietary telecommunications interface technology enables standard phone systems, fax, computer modem or monitored alarm systems to utilize available cellular wireless service for either primary or back-up communications. Products developed and marketed by Telular include the Phonecell(R) and Teleguard(R) lines. SOURCE Telular Corporation
