Well, Gypsy, Coug, & Shoot1st: That's a start. Coug: Nothing like a good rant to begin my day with a laugh. Shoot1st: You're right in-a-way, I intended more of a discussion than an attack on anyone. Gypsy: You said- Cush, maybe, this is not strictly on topic, but I think it is an interesting issue, not Clinton, but the very idea that a person can be morally bankrupt and still retain the admiration and approval of the masses. I think I led things in the wrong direction with my Thoreau quote. So starting over; I think we might all agree that many of our leaders (politicians, business people, sports figures) have exhibited weak moral values and a lack of ethics. For some, there may be a direct correlation between their success and their lack of ethics. But then why do so many others admire these people? What do you think, Gypsy? |
