from Digital Link Corporation and NetScout

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1997--Digital Link of Sunnyvale, CA and

today announced a joint technology development and marketing agreement.

"This partnership is a convergence of leaders," said Narendra Popat, co-founder and president of
NetScout Systems. "NetScout is a leader in standards-based client/server application monitoring,
diagnostic and reporting tools and Digital Link's broad range of WAN access and management
platforms makes them a leader in their market," he said. "Together we provide a standards-based,
scalable solution to customers whose success depends on proactive traffic monitoring up to the
application layer. We have answers for T1/E1, NXT1/E1, T3/E3, Unix, Windows and the Web.
No one else comes close," said Popat.

Today's enterprise LAN/WAN network architectures are evolving to support an increasing level
of shared information across intranets, extranets and the Internet. "Our collective efforts will
provide a new level of end-to-end network visibility and application availability," said Alan Fraser,
president and CEO of Digital Link.

"This new alliance has strategic benefits for two customer sets: service providers and enterprises,"
said Fraser. "Using our joint technologies, service providers will have a valuable tool to offer
service level assurance, thus enabling them to differentiate themselves in a competitive
