Hi Shannon,

I am in total agreement with you that Aurora does have its advantages
over coventional x-ray. Due the fact that it can image up close to
the rib cage, arm pit, and dense breast tissues in younger females
where x-ray can not. This is the whole selling point of Aurora!

But before we get all exited about this we should examine other
aspects before investing in the company. Technically speaking a
whole body MRI is capable of breast imaging just as Aurora would.
It is just not feasible! Aurora is still in its research phase!
The machine it not yet up to par to be sold commercially. I think
cost could go up even more. I wonder how much profit do they make?
I don't know what the profit margin is, but a fair price for a
superconducting magnet is around 200K.

The size of an MRI system mainly is determined by the magnetic field
that has to be contained within the shielded room. One of the main
factors would be the strength of the magnetic field. Aurora is based
on a .5T field which is 2 to 4 times smaller than the 2 million dollar
machine that you mentioned and the trade off here is the performance.
The older MRI machines does require big room and steel to contain the
field but this is not longer the case, because newer magnet has
internal active shiedling just like the one that is used in Aurora and
doesn't take up that much more space. Have you look at the 2 million
dollars machine from GE??? It is build right!!!

This message is getting long and I have to go. Believe me I hope
we do find a effective and feasible way to detect and prevent breast
cancer at an early stage. I hope you don't just invest in the stock
just because of the hype and the want to put and end to breast cancer,
but be practical and look at it from a business point of view as well.

Sincerely,

tony
