McCAIN FOODS TOPS $6.4 BILLION IN SALES
FLORENCEVILLE, N.B. — The McCain Group of companies has reported $6.4 billion in international consolidated sales for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003. The 2003 international sales represent a 30 year compound growth rate of more than 16 per cent for the McCain Group. “Our people around the world did an excellent job of producing our best results in what was generally considered to be a tough economic environment,” Chairman Allison McCain said in making the announcement. The McCain Group registered a 4.9 per cent increase in sales over the previous fiscal year. South Africa and Asia Pacific regions contributed strongly to the organic sales growth. The McCain Group also continued to add to their finger food expertise with strategic acquisitions in Canada and Taiwan. A major frozen foods company, McCain Foods is the world’s largest processor of French fried potatoes. The company also produces many other quality food products, including potato specialties, appetizers, green vegetables, desserts, pizzas, juices and beverages, oven meals and entrees. McCain Foods has manufacturing operations on six continents and employs more than 20,000 worldwide. |
