Ginseng + Tubercin
A CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal) article shows that a daily intake of ginseng helps to reduce the number and severity of colds: cmaj.ca
I would like to see a study involving a daily intake of ginseng and Tubercin to see if such a combined dosage would provide even more improvement. Each has immunostimulant benefits.
In this day and age, what with avian flu H5N1 and the mutations therefrom we need all the help we can get!
I wonder what Shinn, Chung and Shapiro think of this proposal.
The way my mind works - I see this ginseng article and its contribution to human betterment and it acts as an immunostimulant and I think of Tubercin and its action as an immunostimulant and I think that two immunostimulants acting together could well be better than one. In fact the two acting together simultaneously could well be synergistic and provide an effect more than double the individual contributions. But testing would be needed to prove it one way or the other.
I think it is worth a shot, but really, WDIK!
BTW, a company of which I am a shareholder - RushNet Inc. (RSHN) - was the one to bring the CMAJ article public: biz.yahoo.com
That company is a maker of beverages which contain ginseng and thus their interest. My interest is twofold - one as a shareholder of RSHN and two as a beverage consumer trying to get healthier from ginseng while enjoying the fine flavored beverages, now being introduced nationwide in the US and Canada.
As the president of RushNet said about ginseng - they plan to introduce it as a separate product early in 2006.

Robert Corr, president of RushNet, Inc., said, "The scientific confirmation of ginseng's powerful anti-viral properties will support our launch, in early 2006, of a highly profitable line of all-natural Ginseng Viral Care(TM) products. We have combined pure Wisconsin-grown American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) with other quality ingredients known to enhance immune function and overall health. The result is a product which is very timely given the likelihood of raging influenza epidemics going forward."
Corr added, "RushNet gives consumers honest measures of certified unadulterated American ginseng harvested in Wisconsin, where soil and climate are ideal for ginseng cultivation. Wisconsin ginseng is world renowned for its purity and potency." |
