Great discussion, I agree, Ken..and I completely agree with your and Dr. Praveen's analyses..in pediatrics, we rarely encountered the problem of decompensation AF..the only anecdotal experience I have is my 70somthin' mom who developed her AF in her mid60's..and my brother-in-law who was in his thirties with his first episode that has increased episodes these last 12 months..From these 2, I can say that doc's in a regional tertiary care center would rather exhaust medical sans electrical cardioversion at all costs..I disagree with PGS's statement in that I don;t think Michael King at all meant to put cardioversion in the mix..that it's his belief that RSD is better than any other pharmo-candidate..'cuz anyone familiar with the 'art' knows that electrical cardioversion is the best way but as Doc Praveen said, does nada for maintenance and cardioversion has its share of negative effects..

Also, from Mom and b-i-il, I've learned that cardioversion is emotionally a burden..mom's depression worsened..the thought that her heart needed defibrillator support was a serious issue..I can say for sure that patients would rather receive an IV or oral drug to cut the Afib..the cardiologists are intimately tied to their bottom line..I don't know the broad consensus on this issue..

Elisabth..

PS..I read the thread on the valuation thread..post the NBIX fiasco when shareholders believed that the first filing failure was due to clerical errors and then receiving the news in May, I can see why shareholders in CRME would be squeamish..I'd be too., and for today will be on the sidelines rooting for this molecule to work!

Best, Elisabeth
