It wasn't the 'insiders'. Somehow the takeover got leaked. A secretary could have seen a fax, someone could have overheard something in the mens room, who knows? In any event, based on the money that went into out-of-the-money calls on options that were to expire in less than two weeks, it is obvious that it was leaked.
