There are a lot better semis than AMD to look for long positions in.

The semis are rallying hard. But there is a big difference between AMD and QQQQ or most of the other semis, and that is the huge gap down:

I would be considering a SHORT in AMD. It is a failing stock that crashed hard, then rallied above the 200 sma, constituting a bull trap. Then it proceeded to fail at the 200 sma. Now it has rallied into resistance. Possibly it could move as high as the 200 sma, but that's not very likely; I see no good news in AMD's future. However, note that the fact that the sector is rallying adds risk to a short position.
