Damon,

The main reason you can't include local programming via a satellite is the high capital cost of the satellite. Most satellites cover entire the entire United States or the Western or Eastern half of the country. There is no way to include all of the local channels for the country on a 150 channel system (not that anyone would want to). This is a true advantage for MMDS.
