TraderGreg, very astute post and hit the nail on the head. Management thought it was the lesser of two bad situations. They rushed the spin-off without doing the proper investigation on how to do the dividend, could it be because of the Internet craze, in the market, the last few months. Of course this is just my opinion :). Still holding my shares for the TIPS dividend and the other future dividends.
