I installed Windows 7 on a new PC with an Intel 120GB SSD yesterday (and no other hard drive), and I'm being told it will have problems because I didn't set the SATA connection in AHCI mode prior to installation (it was in IDE mode).

So now I've put the SATA connection into AHCI mode, but Windows no longer works on the machine.

In order to do a complete new installation of Windows (using AHCI storage mode), what exactly do I need to do other than put the Windows disks in the DVD slot and click "go"? I had installed 5 or 6 programs yesterday while the SATA was in IDE mode, will that cause a problem?
