Had a dinner party last night that included a registered nurse. Very informative. According to her, since Florida capped malpractice awards at $200k, there are virtually no malpractice lawsuits. Lawyers are not going to commit to a multi-year legal battle for $50K; maybe.

But the multiple tests go on for almost ANYONE entering an emergency room. Why? That's where the money is. According to her it is seldom about the patient... it's about how many $'s you can pull out of any given situation. Not shocking really... that's what business does. And health care is business.
