If you abandoned wearing shoes over a period of time you would develop a thicker natural sole and it would be abnormal for you to wear shoes. At that point you would be naturally normal instead of being just Solon-Shoe-Wearer or He-Who-Wears-Shoes.

That does not take away from the fact she accomplished some incredible things over a very short time period and ultimately she was condemned to death and the voices which she hardly ever talked about were used as evidence against her. Equally self-serving types later canonized her for the same thing.

"Of course, I do not believe that angels guided her to do the things she did, and to die the way she did."

There is no earthly way to understand these things.
